I've Booked Nearly 1,000 Client Nights on This River Cruise Line. Here's Why.
I use Amadeus River Cruises a lot. In the last 18 months, I've booked nearly 1,000 client nights on this one river cruise line including 3 groups. I'll be hosting my 4th group on them in 2028 and can't wait! My clients love the gorgeous ships, the friendly service, the drop-down windows, the walk-in closets and the food paired with local wines.
Aside from all those FABULOUS features, what also makes it a favorite? The price. I priced three 8-day, 7-night Danube River cruises sailing in late May 2027, all at regular fares with no sales applied. The new AMADEUS Mira came in lowest, saving up to $1,641 per person, or $3,282 per couple, with crew gratuities already included. How do they get away with this? They don't spend 5-7% of their revenue sending catalogs and placing ads on social media and TV like other lines do. They rely in travel advisors and past guests to spread the word about them. But, they've been around about longer than any other river cruise company and they know what has worked for them so they continue to do it.

Why Amadeus comes out ahead
Crew tips are already paid. Gratuities for the ship's crew are built into the Amadeus fare, so there's no big tip bill on the last night.
A brand-new ship. AMADEUS Mira debuts in 2027 with Signature beds, Rituals bath amenities and drop-down panorama windows.
Your trip, your way. Shore excursions are optional on Amadeus. Add only the tours you'll enjoy, from Salzburg to a Vienna concert. Packages start at $514, and even with a package added, you still save. You can also book just a few individual excursions so you have less structured time and more free time each day. But, you aren't paying for ALL the excursions you might in other lines when you really only take a few. Unlimited choice comes at a cost.
Wine and beer with lunch and dinner are included on all three cruises, so you aren't giving that up.
Is the lowest price the right fit for you?
For many travelers, yes. But if you'd rather have every shore excursion bundled in, Options A and B include excursions in the fare. That convenience costs $1,413 to $1,641 more per person before tips, so it's worth deciding how many tours you'd really take. The itineraries also differ slightly by line, which I'm happy to walk through with you. No river cruise is a "one-size-fits-all" proposal. But, if you are wanting value for your money, Amadeus is a good place to start looking.
Ready to hold a cabin?
Late-spring Danube sailings are popular, and entry-level cabins tend to go first. Other routes will have similar savings. The only time of the year where Amadeus starts to level up with other lines is the Summer - which is when river cruising is at it's busiest and so pricing reflects that supply and demand situation. But, let's talk. I'll confirm current fares, check for promotions and help you pick the right cabin and excursions.
Fine print: Regular cruise-only fares per person, double occupancy, entry-level stateroom, before any promotions, as of October 29, 2026; fares and availability change. Suggested crew gratuities are each line's published guideline for 7 nights; a tip for the cruise director is extra on all three lines. Shore excursions are optional on Amadeus. Itineraries differ slightly by line. Air not included. CST#2129700-40.
